You are a work-in-progress.
You are a reaction to your stimuli.
You’re not betraying yourself by changing.
You’re not betraying anyone.
You are becoming yourself.
You have to let it happen.

There are so many different kinds of people
so many different ways to be a human being
so that we can all in some way be The Other
we are all the outsider
in at least one of our facets
this is all so that we can learn compassion.

When you realize the many different ways
that you aren’t the imaginary default
that you can never be the fake normal
that make you too someone else’s other
in that moment compassion opens to you
in that moment you can see
through all the other false dicotomies
and see the way we’re bound together
in our shared humanity.

Seven billion people with
seven billion genders.
Seven billion ethnicities
that our ancestors have rendered.
Seven billion classes
seven billion faiths
all in this together
only pretending that normal exists
was ever in our way.

You are unique
just like everyone else
and neither of those lines
negate each other.
You are unique and
you are becoming more and moreso by the day.
Embrace your becoming something new
and see how you are everyone come what may.
You have to let it happen.
