I DID NOT GET TO SAY GOODBYE in Poetry

I didn't get to say goodbye.
My tears will just not cry,
or slip gently from my eye,
as I think of time spent together
pleasantly in random blether.
I didn't get to say goodbye.
Our arrangement was not kept,
and I have not yet wept,
for you slipped away too soon
with the last light of the moon.
I didn't get to say goodbye.
Peter, so much and so little left to say;
words fail me at your passing today.
I only wish I had said Goodbye.
