Barely into his second week as Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the United States and he’s killed his first U.S. service member and an eight year old girl. This occurred in Yemen. I don’t remember Congress ever declaring war on Yemen. All the details are there on the interwebs for anyone to see. The fact is that our disgusting “elected” five year old Joffrey has probably committed his first murder. And when you kill a child, no matter the color of their skin, or who their father was, you are a murderer. And that is the test, to see if killing civilians can be done. And so far all U.S. presidents have passed the test.
G.W. Bush killed 6648 service members in combat. Obama killed 2499 service members in combat. And both together killed hundreds of thousands, maybe millions of civilians. So yeah, five year old Joffrey has some big boy shoes to fill.
And the vice-prez Pence the Peckerhead? He was at the annual women’s “anti-choice government forced pregnancy” march. Speaking as a so-called god person and as an old white guy, cause you know, old white guys have the say over young breedable women. All you women better go back and re-read Margaret Atwood’s “A Handmaids Tale”.
I’m thinking a nation ruled by christian law would probably be as bad or worse for women than a nation ruled by muslim law. I’m thinking about those original usurpers here, the puritans. Those folks were truly batshit crazy.
And what about the two words I heard our five year old Joffrey speak? I heard it but had to go back and listen again to be sure- “…our people…” Who’s he talking about? Old people? Old white people? Old white supposedly rich people?
See, that’s always been the problem. The whole us vs. them bullshit. We are all immigrants, even the First People came from somewhere else. And we all rose out of the Rift Valley. Oh yeah, but fuck facts and common sense.
Our people. How does that even fit into the basic idea of America?
Except for the crowds soon to be in the street everyday for the foreseeable future, I’m kinda losing hope.
But hey, I’m old. I hid under my desk in grade school during “atom bomb drills”. I watched the body counts from Vietnam every night on the news. The world has gone on. I just always thought things would get better.
A fellow journalist here on PB posted the perfect sentence, as I’ve thought about closing the laptop for the indefinite future:
