It’s almost like Pavlov’s dog, I’m in the bath so I must write an entry!
A friend is coming over soon so I can’t be long but I’m here for a reason.
It is almost Rich’s birthday which can only mean one thing: the annual pilgrimage to Glastonbury Tor. We’re going for the weekend which, initially, meant that I would be missing out on my Sunday Runday so I made plans to up the distance on my mid week runs.
Instead of a speed session I did 10km (6.2 miles) and was planning the same for Friday but then… a crazy plan formed in my mind…
What if, what the jolly if, I decided to run on Sunday after all. In Glastonbury. To get up early and go through the town and up the Tor, down the other side and back through the town to the hotel. 6km in total…
This could be considered utter madness, total insanity. Fucking insane even. Glastonbury Tor is no gentle, rolling hill. It’s steep, straight up and very, very hard to run.
But what if..?
I’m feeling a glint in my eye and a challenge in my step....
The reason I’m in the bath? To up my morning run distance involved an alarm consisting of 4:45am, followed by the run, the ‘encouragement’ of the children to get ready, the day at work and the half hour swim afterwards. So I’m flopping, relaxing in the bath and will welcome my friend in while wearing a onsie…
So, to run up the Tor? Whaddaya reckon?
