We ended up reaching 66ºF today. Such glorious weather!! I enjoyed every minute of it ... in between the following activities:

  • 6 loads of washed, dried, folded and put away laundry

  • Made dinners for myself to take to work for the next week

  • Made breakfast burritos for Hubby for the next week

  • Dishes washed 3 times

  • Lunch and dinner meals cooked

  • Proofed/edited Hubby's final thesis for his degree so that he could submit it

  • Various other household chores (I'd walk into a room and go, "Oh, I need to do this!")

So although I didn't spend all day outside, I did have the windows open and I took more frequent, and longer, smoke breaks so that I could sit outside and enjoy the sun beating down on my face for a few minutes anyway. It was so nice and so welcomed! If only it could stay that way! But, I know it won't since Thursday our high is only going to be 27. At least there won't be any snow. But yeah, these warm one day, cold the next day days need to stop.

So, believe it or not, I was able to enjoy my first Friday & Saturday off work since the beginning of August. I had one Saturday in October and another in November off and then in December I had 1 Friday off. But both days, back to back, oh it was wonderful. I can even admit that I was worried that it wouldn't happen. I kept having this dread that I would get called in. Especially for Saturday night since Jimena was scheduled to work my shift and it was the first time for her. She had not had any previous training on it with myself or Shelia either. But, I didn't get called in and that is all that matters. My family very much enjoyed it. Even if I felt like my feng shui was out of balance lol.

I came into work tonight to see that Jimena had some last minute schedule changes, again. According to the new schedule Shelia has 6 days. Seriously? So when Tami comes in at 7 (if she bothers to show while I am still here, I will ask to pick up Tuesday night. If she says no, I'll remind her of Bill's "no employee is to get overtime, ever" policy. I doubt it will do any good, but it is worth a shot. If I can manage to pick up the extra shift I will have (gasp) five days for this week. I already picked up an extra day due to Jimena needing days off so although 4 is nice, 5 would be extra cool. But we'll see what happens in a few hours.

I'm trying really hard to get out of this funk. I hate being this way. So I've been forcing myself to write, to note, to be active in life in general. I'd much rather crawl under my bed covers till it passes but I know it won't pass until I make it pass. So here I am. With not much to write about lol. Today helped, the abundant sunshine, the house windows open, my music playing loudly while The Child hid out in her bedroom and Hubby was holed up downstairs in his "Man Cave" finishing up his thesis. It was just me, the music, the gentle breeze and the dust bunnies. I think if I could have just a few more days like today, I will be back to a somewhat normal Sassy.

One day at a time ...

Till next time ...
