with Santa. Santa totally understands that his function is to provide photo opportunities. He had some very happy visitors and some very unhappy ones.

and Colin James and Kelly Prescott who had to stop mid song to admire the eagles flying over the river.

The Holiday Train raises money and collects donations for food banks. It’s a very happy event. Always full of kids. Everyone is in a good mood. Some people ride from town to town. Next stop would be Lansing.

Bottom picture is of a railroad employee and his mother. His family live in western Iowa and had come out to see and ride on the train. It was her Christmas present she said. She also said her son takes a week of vacation every fall to work security at the Clay County Fair in Spencer. He takes care of Rock-It Robot. He looks a little suspicious in the picture but he came round and was happy talking trains. He talked about how much better the roadbed is across the river for the BNSF. The can go FAST over there. The Canadian Pacific has taken over a bunch of small, almost abandoned tracks on the west side of the river. Parts of them had not been used for two years.

Here’s the schedule.

Note: if you google 2246 cp - the ID number of a locomotive and it’s railroad - you get links to pictures taken of it. You can see where it was and when it was there. It works for any locomotive.
