Today was the food run, not us it’s the dogs who need the food this time, it’s a two bus journey the 22 from home to Truro and then the 14 or 18 to a edge of city shopping area where ‘Pets at Home’ This time it is two 2Kg bags of frozen minced beef, two packs of 1Kg cubes of meat and vegetables and one pack of beef lumps; we have to make do with pork.
While I was up there I went into Home Base, I have lost my staple gun [as to I’ll get of being a American] I have a new protect in hand, I’m making a star for Christmas, I’m making a four point star chicken – wire, I was going to make a cross after the one we borrowed last Easter, now the cross has been pushed on into the new year.
Ron has made two formers to make the chicken – wire triangles over, the stapler – gun will hold the wire fixed; as I hammer the wire round the former. The two up and down triangles’ are a little longer than the side ones; as I have such illustrations in early paintings.
Back at home I was looking at the moulded packing, a pair of strong scissors are needed to get in, the package and your arm if your not very careful. When opened the gun is rather butch for a light duty staple - gun, each time I tried to close the staple - gun it fired of a staple. Thinking I had managed the gun I closed it on my knee – it wasn’t painful just very quick; gathering the cloth on each side of the staple and lifted it out.
After that I’m quite sure the staple – gun is up to the job in hand.
