Whip my hair in My Unpredictable Life ...

Don’t let haters get me off my grind

Keep my head up, I know I’ll be fine

Keep fighting until I get there

When I’m down and I feel like giving up

[Chorus:]

I whip my hair back and forth

I whip my hair back and forth (just whip it)

- Whip My Hair - Willow Smith

So about my hair ... for those that are new to me, and have not seen any of the pictures I have posted of myself, I have hair. And then I have more hair. And then I have even more hair.

It is thick. It is naturally curly. Up until 2 years ago it was the bane of my existence. For the most part I have always hated my hair, which is typical - those with straight hair, wish they had curly hair and those with curly hair wish they had straight hair. I spent 33 years living within 30 minutes of the Atlantic Ocean. I spent 4 years living in England, 1 hour from the east coast. I spent 5 years living 2 hours from the Atlantic Ocean. So 41 years was spent living in extreme humidity. Which my hair detested. The only time it ever looked halfway decent was within 5 minutes of doing it, before I walked out of the house. After I opened the door to the outside world? Pffffffft! Forget it. So I kept my hair in long layers to manage the curls and long enough to pull back into a ponytail and didn't bother to do anything with it except for Sunday morning church services.

Then 2 years ago I moved to Oklahoma. Within 2 days I had already felt and noticed a difference with my hair. What is this shine? Why does it feel soft? It only took a few more days before the light bulb went off in my head and it dawned on me ... NO humidity! Within months, I had let it grow longer and was wearing it down more often.

Now, I freakin' love my hair. I'll admit that I have become somewhat vain about my hair. It is my Crown of Glory. Don't get me wrong, it is still a pain in the ass to deal with! It takes 20 minutes in the shower just to shampoo/condition it and make sure it is thoroughly rinsed clean. Then you add in all the hair goop to keep it manageable & healthy. And then you add in the drying time, then the few minutes on making the bangs look decent. Very much so a pain in the ass, but so worth it in the end. So when I'm not working, you'll find it in a messy bun on top of my head. But when I am working? Oh yeah, I'm rocking the awesome hair. It has doubled in length in the past 2 years. The longest layers in the back rest just at my waist. I've had male guests ask me if they could touch it. LMAO Of course I said no (who knows where their hands have been???). But my hair always gets comments. I dread the day when I have to go near the East Coast again. Or anywhere that has humidity.

So, without further ado, here is my hair ... disregard the half asleep look on my face. When I took the picture I had just returned home from working all night and running a few errands after getting The Child off to school. I was so ready for some sleep lol

Oh, and before I forget, here is a little friendly Public Service Announcement from me (Sassy) to you ....

Stay away from the Moonshine. Nothing good will come from drinking it. Except maybe you will be bacteria free from the inside out. And chest hair. If you lack chest hair, then the Moonshine will definitely put some chest hair on you. And yes, I am speaking from experience.

(Can now cross Moonshine off my bucket list ... won't be doing that shit again! )

I just started growing my hair out in the last year..it's just past my shoulders now but my hair is flat and straight...stock straight.

Thank you!! Yes, avoid the Moonshine if at all possible lol

Try taking some Biotin. It gives you energy and makes your hair & nails grow. Also, prenatal vitamins are awesome at growing hair.

  • random: Your hair is gorgeous! I wish I had more hair! I have quite a lot, but it gets kinda annoying. Its at that. . .middle length. ._.
A random question: What part of England did you live? I live in England. ^u^
Never heard of this 'Moonshine' stuff. . .but it looks lethal =|

Thank you!

We lived in Lakenheath. My husband was stationed at RAF Lakenheath. I miss England so much! I want to go back. We promised our daughter that we would take her there one day to show her where she was conceived (Bourne Hall, Cambridge) and born (RAF Lakenheath). I can't wait to fullfill that promise to her!

Moonshine is lethal! LOL

I'm jealous of that gorgeous head of hair ya got there lol! Mine is very thin, tangles way too easily, and very rarely hold curl for very long haha.
