I could go on about why j is awesome. But I’ll just leave her response here…

[E], I hope you visited your mom and the little ones. That sounds like it would be good for the soul.

The world does seem more unsafe right now. It’s no different than two weeks ago, but we are more aware of it – and there is more permission for bad behavior (or perhaps the typical bad behavior is getting more exposure???). Still, even Trumpsters are often Very Good People. I bet KC’s grandmother voted for Trump, yet would take her cane and beat anyone over the head for simply considering hurting KC or you. One friend has upped her contributions to political activist sites. I read a story on Pantsuit Nation where someone had bought lunch for the Trumpsters behind her in line (who had been giggling at her Hillary sticker). We find ways to go on and make the world a better place, even by hugging little ones.

It doesn’t make you a bad person to limit your exposure to tragedies. See what you can handle, then across time, perhaps across time you won’t need to hide as much. As we were walking the dogs this morning, I wondered whether you should be limiting your news intake or Facebook viewing. You probably already are.
