I was up very early this morning. I fixed my coffee and got out my NOOK. I finished reading this one book by Gordon S Wood The Idea of America: Reflections on the Birth of the United States. I started on biography about Alexander Hamilton called Hamilton by Ron Chernov. I read in the we hours of the morning.

My worker came today. She fixed a breakfast of pancakes. She did laundry and ran the sweeper. She left pancake mix on the counter. I had to clean it up. As usual she sat and watched tv in between jobs. I sat at the kitchen table and read.

I have gotten used t her not talking to me. I like to read in the morning. I read while she does her work. It would be nice to have someone who would talk to me. But I guess that is not going to happen with her. I just can’t sit there while she watched tv. I get out my book and read.

I did a lot of reading today. Like I said I started a biography about Alexander Hamilton. The author was talking about his parents and early life on a Caribbean Island. His father abandoned the family and the mother died at an early age. He had an older brother. Both children were considered illegitimate . Upon his mothers death the brothers went their separate ways. Alexander was an an apprentice clerk for a New York Firm. Brother James became a carpenter.

Well so much for the entry today. I am feeling kind of tired and sluggish but otherwise ok. I am not depressed or anxious. I have not been thinking about Trump. I haven’t been watching CNN since election night. I’ve bee escaping the present situation by reading history books and biographies. I’m better off not knowing what is going on because I get too upset.

Life is good for now. I’m not so sure what it will be once Trump gets in office. Like I keep telling myself I cant worry about it. There is nothing I can do about it anyway
