Deep Breathing in Everyday Ramblings

If you look out my front windows it looks like winter. There is still some fall in the back. Yesterday evening I was able to get all the leaves off my patio as the trees above have by now released all their leaves. This morning when I went to put the bird feeders out it was wet and clean out there. That clearing away was a good thing to do.
Yesterday I finally took a deep breath and called my phone company and negotiated a deal on a new iPhone. Well, it is new to me; it is an SE.
It is small but mighty and I am looking forward to getting it all operational. I already ordered a case and screen protectors.
The cool thing is that because I chose to work with a phone company with progressive values and I have been a member for a long time and my poor Galaxy S3 is no longer able to hold a charge for more than an hour I get the whole thing for free.
Oh boy, a new toy.
It is windy and warm and wet here today. I am particularly interested in the wind because I have been reading about the Spanish owned wind turbines in the Gorge. The people who live here use only 15% of the alternative energy that is generated in Oregon and Washington. We send most of it to California and even some to Canada.
I went to my Weight Watchers meeting and weighed in for the third time over goal. You get two pounds leeway to stay so you don’t need to pay. I was glad I went even though it was not something I really wanted to do. Accountability is useful in these circumstances and I really don’t want to gain any more weight.
But the dark, the election, the stress at work and the fact that my mouth hurts intermittently right now and I can’t eat many of my normal foods all sort of conspired to take me down a tunnel of over consumption in an effort (however unskillfully) to comfort myself.
I have been running the numbers on what the rest of the dental work is going to cost. And literally doing more deep breathing. I did a great practice with very simple movements with a complicated breath pattern last night to ground and relax me.
Boy do I hope the bone in my upper jaw is strong enough so that those implants are successful.
The kitten has been named Henry. I have only seen pictures and heard reports. I get to meet him in a couple of weeks. He is adorable. Heart meltingly so. He chased his new big brother Jack all around the house this morning and was proud that he could make it up to the top of the tall tower they have in their living area all by his own self.
Apparently Jack is tolerating him okay so far but doesn’t quite know what he is supposed to do.
There is a meeting at the church tomorrow midday to discuss the changes that are being made.
I finally heard back from the yoga studio about rental fees and to my surprise they are reasonable. It is less than half what the church was charging me that first year. So pretty soon I need to make some decisions about whether to move the class or not.
Knowing that not all my students will come with me, even though it is only two blocks away. I think I followed my teacher to five different studios. There was one studio she was at that I never went to because of the location.
It will all be revealed.
Or not.
