On your soul be it... in Voices Windward

I’ve tried to think of a witty way to say this but fuck it I should just be clear…(ish)
If you vote for people like Trump, Farage, La Pen and the organisations they represent and associate with… if you promote them or stand with them at all, even if you are not a xenophobe or nationalist, even if you don’t agree with everything they say, but you do on that core issue there… If you align yourself through intent, willful ignorance, neglection or general apathy then you are collaborating with facists and you do not get to demand “everyone heal” or self elevate above people rolling their eyes and lamenting with nihilistic hyperbolic rantings.
You have directly supported the darker side of society and help make the world just a little bit worst.
You do not get to claim their “It’s all the same, whoever won” because although you may be right in a grand rhetoric kind of way… in a very real way, you have severally harmed people… be it due to the empowerment of racists on the street or the endorsement of laws to negate gay people, or the passport removed from a mother. You are making someones life worse and their pursuit of happiness harder.
I’m not suggesting the alternatives are wonderful, often they are not. You still made the choice to speak and put that voice behind putting the hand around all our throats.
You do not get to tell people to calm down and move on nor to stop going on about it or to accept defeat. Tho in time we may choose to forgive you on a personal or even social level, that is on us not you.
Be silent, accept the horrific thing you did and think about things while you clap and applaud as the world burns.
You are a collaborator with oppression
You are akin to one of the 17,211,180 who voted Hitler, the 4,653,488 who voted in Mussolini, one of the 17,410,742 who voted leave, the 4,712,461 who voted for the National Front and the 58,864,233 who voted Trump.
You may not be racist.
You may not hate gays.
You may not want to oppress women.
You might not want to kill the poor.
But you walk with those who do.
I’m sure - as people keep saying - that this particular vote won’t end the world, and we can all ignore the drama, but the tide just got more furious and at some point we’ll have to accept the changes… Someday down the line I truly hope you never have to look at what happened and feel deeply ashamed of your self, I’m hoping one of the people lamenting now, manages to change things…
‘Till then, stop with your self satisfying arrogance, like you wouldn’t be crying fraud and betrayal if people hadn’t just proven how little they should be trusted and voted further into darkness.
