Living Up to Expectations in Everyday Ramblings

It is not raining! After almost three times the normal rainfall over the last five weeks it is such a joy to be out and about with no precipitation to describe degrees of.

There is progress in dental land. On Tuesday I had some work done to stabilize an important tooth we are trying to save and today I have more surgery to prepare one of my implants for the crown. That means I will have a new tooth to chew with Thanksgiving week.

In January if the bone is strong enough I get the other two crowns and I will be done!

I was thinking last night walking home from class about how much better my energy is this year than last. Of course I am not teaching the class at the hospital any more. It has been a year since I gave that up. It was so rewarding but an energy sinkhole.

And I am not subbing the studio classes. I am actually ready to take some more subbing on. It would be great if the studio were a little closer though.

No news from the church on the future of my classes there but I discovered last night that there is a new studio with a beautiful new floor two blocks away for rent. I need to find out how much that will be. Probably because of the location too much but maybe I can trade subbing or something.

And I would need to get back on the marketing train.

Yesterday Saint Joe pinged in sick. He had food poisoning he says and I honestly hope he was just using that as an excuse and not actually experiencing it. I encouraged him to actually take his sick leave now and then for mental health days.

He works so hard and we all need a break.

Anyway, that made my day yesterday insane. Stuff isn’t getting done and I do not like that feeling. But there isn’t much I can do about it. I am not party to staffing level decisions. The organization that I work for is going through some growing pains and it is not fun. It wants to be a big player in healthcare but it has this very old school inefficient small town structure and has for many many years hired a number of folks that were either not appropriately skilled when they started or haven’t kept up.

They are bringing more and more bright efficient (driven even) young folks onboard and the contrast is startling.

I picked up The Trainable Cat at the library yesterday. And I downloaded an electronic version of The Grid: The Fraying Wires Between Americans and Our Energy Future also from the library.

It will be a challenge to finish them both before they are due back.

I am doing a 30 days course, as continuing education for yoga, and one of my homework exercises was to write down three things I am good at.

Reading was one I chose.

Let’s see if I can live up to my own expectations.
