Ha! I almost forgot that I challenged myself to write every day this month. And it’s only DAY 2. This should be good.
So, the CUBS JUST WON THE WORLD SERIES. I feel like this is profound because I am a long-suffering Vikings fan (different, but the same?) and this gives me some modicum of hope that someday, we will have our day in the sun like the Cubs fans. Someday. But it’s exciting to see how f*cking excited Cubs fans are. I feel vicariously excited through their excitement.
It was a fun game though. Even moreso because Aaron had to work today on a project that I hired him for, and he wasn’t supposed to be done filming until 8:30p, and he has a flight to Houston at 11:59p, so he didn’t think he would have time to swing home beforehand. But as luck would have it, he finished early and was able to come home, help me tuck the kids in, watch Survivor, have an adult beverage with me and watch the Cubs win. Then his driver showed up to drive him to the airport and thus here I am. So I got him for two hours more than I thought I was going to.
So nice.
I made myself run today. On a weekday, which hasn’t been easy for me to do. I used to be SUCH A RUNNER. It took me awhile to get back into after Joaquin, but by the time he was 2.5 years old (2014) i was finally back in shape and running 1/2 marathons again. In fact, I ran three half marathons in the span of 6 months, which is a personal record for me. AND, I had great time. Not my personal best times, but great times nonetheless. My last half marathon was January 3rd, 2015, and within about two weeks of that I was pregnant with Aurion. Now she’s one, and the two-year anniversary of my last half marathon (13.1 miles) is coming up. And I can BARELY motivate myself to run more than 3 miles in a row these days.
But today I made myself run 3 miles, I made myself run them FAST (vs. super slow) and it felt GREAT. I also bab
Also: today both kids were amenable today. Mostly. Moreso than normal. Which is great because I mostly had them by myself today (which is not normal) and I was a bit anxious about it. But things went well.
So all-in-all, today was a great day.
I love being able to write that, because last week was a shitshow, and I feel like karma brought things back to normal today.
Until tomorrow (I hope).

I'm happy the Cubs won too...but mostly because that means Cleveland lost. Take that you Jays stomping/dream killing team!
