I had a powerful and emotional dream two nights ago. As I struggled to sleep that night I went from tears to numbness back to tears. I finally fell into a restless sleep and began to dream...
C and I stood looking at each other. We were just standing there and the mood was light. I remember standing there looking at him when all of a sudden he grabbed something from his inside coat pocket.
I remember in the dream my heart felt as though it stopped. My body went numb. My eyes followed his hands as they presented me with a gift.
His first hand grabbed my hand and forced it open. With one of my hands out reached and open he placed into my hand a seed. He then took his other hand and closed my hand forcing my fingers around the seed to keep it warm and safe.
My heart began to beat quickly. Since my heart had stopped earlier, it felt as though it was brought back to life. It beat so hard and so fast I could physically feel blood rushing through my body re-nourishing all the cells that had just got without. My physical body rushing so quickly before my mind had time to process what was happening.
And then my mind connected what was going on and demanded my body reflex to slow down. My heart slowed to a near stop. The blood in my body just hardly delivering the much needed nutrients to where it needed to go. And I spoke ever so slowly.
"What.. Do you mean... Are you saying..." I stuttered trying to ask for clarity to be sure. He simply nodded at me. Again my heart brought me back to life again. Beating harder and more excitedly than before. Except then my mind being the cautious organ that it is demanded once again for my body to settle down. My eyes started scanning the world around me. The world seemed real but something was off so I asked him,
"I know this sounds like a strange question but I need to ask you..." I looked at him and cocked my head. "Is this a dream?"
He looked at me and smiled as though I was being crazy.
I spoke again, "Of course it's not," I laugh. "But it's just that it feels as though I am in a dream. Everything seems so dream-like."
It was then I began to look around. And the more I looked around the slower my heart beat. I looked at this green Volkswagen car supposedly belonging to my cousin. It was dirty and old. There was rust all over it's bumper. That's when I turned to him and said,
"Of course this is a dream. My cousin doesn't own a green Volkswagen." And I looked around. "And he certainly doesn't live here." I said as I moved my hand in the general direction of the house near me.
I then said, "This is only a dream It's not really happening."
I woke up.
I have always had such powerful dreams when it comes to C. Always. Very emotional and vivid dreams. This was one of the most vivid dreams I have ever had. Very powerful and emotional. So much meaning and raw reality in it. Painful.
I slept poorly the rest of that night and last night too.
