Eight more days left in October. I did pretty good financially speaking this month. It is the last week of the month and I have $10 left. I’m going to hold onto that money for dear life. Been trying to read this morning just could not get into my book. I’ve been thinking about next month’s budget. I worked out a budget for November and it looks pretty good.

I get two checks a month. I get an SSI check of $94 on the first. Then I get my Social Security of $659 on the third. I already have it worked out how I’m going to spend my money. First the SSI Check I will pay $3.18 reload fee for my debit card. Then I will put $33 on my card. That leaves me with $57.82 I plan on spending $30 at Wal Mart on the first That leaves me with $27.82 Then I plan on buying subs from Foxe’s pizza That comes to $22.00 I will have $5.82 out of this check.

Then I get $659 in Social Security on the 3rd. I will leave $150 in the bank for Comcast. Then I will get a money order for $216.75 That will leave me with $292.25 I will stop at Gumby’s to get cigars. Three cartons will cost about $38. I will have $254.25. I set aside $10 for meds and $10 for laundry I will have $234.25 Then it is back to Wal Mart where I will spend about $150 on groceries. I should have $84.25 I plan on saving $20 and spending $40 for cleaning supplies. I should have $24.25 left from this check. This will leave me with $30.07 free and clear., I should be in good shape

I do not think I will buy any books next month. I bought two books this month that I haven’t even looked at. I was looking at my library and I have a score of books I have not read. I should be reading the books I already have before buying anymore. If I can hold onto the money I put on my debit card I will have $63.07 That money could go into a savings account for my next eye glass appointment.

I have been thinking about a conversation I had with my case manager one time. She wanted to work out a budget with me. I got very defensive about this. I do not think I need help in managing my money. I spend a lot of money when I get my check. But I don’t think I blow my money. I always make sure the rent is paid and Comcast is paid. I always have food to eat for the month. I always have money for meds and cleaning supplies. Sometimes I can even make my check last through the entire month.

I was thinking about how I spend money and possible ways I might be able to cut back. Comcast bill of $149 is very high. But this is for phone, internet and cable tv. I even get Wi Fi with the deal. It is expensive but I get a lot of enjoyment out of cable tv. I have my favorite channels and I like watching movies. I don’t have a car or go out This is my entertainment for the month., Besides I checked into it one time and they told me I would not be saving that much with phone and internet. For now I am keeping the package I have.

But I was thinking if she went over my budget the Comcast payment might be an issue. She might strongly suggest I go for a cheaper package or even say I am not spending my money wisely. Then she would make a claim that I cannot handle my own money and I would have to have a payee or something like that. I strongly feel that I do not need a payee and I do not need anyone’s help in handling my money. I think I do a pretty good job of that on my own

Like I keep saying I always pay my rent. I always have money for food. I always have money for meds. If I blew my money and not do these things then yes I would need a payee. But I make sure I always have rent money and the necessities of life. I do not need help. I do not need help.

I live on a fixed income and there is only so much money to go around. I suppose if I didn’t have such a high cable bill I would have money to go out. But I chose to get a tv. I chose to get a computer . I chose to get my current cable package/ I would rather instead of spending my money on eating out all the time. I can do one or the other but I can’t afford to do both. I chose to have phone, internet and cable. Irather like it.

Despite paying for a high cable bill next month looks good. That is provided I do not splurge on books and subs. I will order in one time and that should be enough for the month. I am definitely not buying any books next month.

Well so much for budgets It looks promising
