I got out of my box again today. Case manager picked me up at 9. We went to the bank. I got my Social Security check. I left $160 in checking to pay for Comcast. Also got a money order for my rent., Then we went to the state building and headed for the department of motor vehicles. I had to fill out a form for a new id card. Then their computers went down. We decided to go shopping. First we stopped at Gumby’s I got cigars for the month. Then we went to Wal Mart.
First thing we did was stop in the eye glass place. I got my glasses adjusted so they are not falling all over my face. I did my grocery shopping. I tried not to go overboard. I didn’t get much groceries. I bought 23 Homestyle bakes and a frozen pizza. and a case of pop. Then I bought three boxes of pancake mix and syrup. Also bought some dish soap aluminous foil and paper towels. Total order came to $118 something.
From Wal Mart we went back to the DMV. This time we go t waited on. I showed her all my information. I had to bring in a bank statement, rental agreement and birth certificate. I also forked over $12 for a new id card. Then I got my picture taken and they handed me my new id. From there we went back to Overbrook Towers. I hauled in the groceries and put them away then returned the grocery cart to first floor,.
I didn’t have any problems in Wal Mart today. My case manager was with me. She talked to me a little bit. I didn’t encounter any rude people at the store. I just did my business paid for my stuff and got out. Also the lady at the DMV was fairly nice. I did not have long to wait the second time I was there.
Now I am sitting at my computer wondering where my money went .I didn’t buy a whole lot of groceries. I am looking at my receipt from WM. Grocery items came to $95.64 I remember non grocery items came to 23. I spent about $37 for three cartons of cigars. and $12 for a new ide card., I can’t figure out where the hell I spent my money. I have $50 left out of $500\
I sometimes wonder if I am losing my ability to handle finances. I tell myself I always have money for rent, Comcast and meds, food and laundry., I always have money for food and cleaning supplies,. But money slips through my fingers and it seems hard to keep track of what I spend. Thought I would have extra money this month since no more computer payments but I am in no better shape. I cannot figure that out . Oh well at least I have food to eat my cubbards are full and that is a good feeling.,
Remember life is pretty good. 1 I have roof over my head. 2 I have clothes to wear 3 I have food to eat 4 I have a wonderful fiancé in Chocolatechip 5 I am in good physical health 6 I have phone, internet and cable tv. 7 I have a worker that comes in and cooks and cleans for me. 8 I have plenty of books to read 9 I am not addicted to alcohol or drugs. 10 I have an SSI and social security check 11 I have insurance that pays for most of my meds 12 I am debt free. 13 I have a wonderful support system in Healthways.
Life is pretty good. There is no reason to be depressed.
