… or is it?
I wrote this in my 750words this morning. (excuse the term ‘cops’. It’s easier to type than policeman and is sexually inclusive.)
*Cops are killing black people right and left. I wonder if it’s because of all of the shit can wars we are engaging in. Are the cops treating black people like they are the enemy in those wars? It seems like it. Cops hire a lot of ex-service men. They get preferential status for their service record. That’s good. I am not against it. But if it leads them to think they are still at war, still in war zones, still dealing with ‘enemy forces’, then it’s not good. Whatever our population is, it is not the enemy. It is us. Black people should be treated the same as white people. I know that will never happen, or more likely never reliably happen, but it’s got to be the goal. And when it happens the other way, when black people are killed like flies used to be swatted, we can’t have that. There will be revolution if this keep up. *
Then I went to Twitter and came across more of this stuff. Something lead me to google Terence T. Crutcher, the man who was killed by the blue eyed woman policeman in Tulsa. He came in contact with the police when they came to assist him when he was having car trouble.
I ended up watching police department video. It’s bothersome. He appears to be an individual who is having car trouble. I’ve been in that situation. I had my flat tire a couple weeks ago. I pulled into a driveway and flagged down a fellow worker who took me home. Later Jim and I went back and he changed my tire and I drove home. My bad luck did not draw attention from the police. If it had I would not have expected to be shot.
Here’s the site I went to. The police video is a little farther down the page.
