Dear M & P,
I’ve always considered myself to be of the diplomatic sort. I try to be courteous and respectful of everyone. I do not start trouble nor do I cause problems because that is not in my nature. I fully respect and understand the occupancy reasoning why my daughter had to go, and I’m not calling you a liar, but I do not believe that you had multiple complaints from multiple people about her. I believe you went solely on Bobby’s word to enforce the occupancy rule. I am on good enough terms with D, K, B and B (before she left) that if there was a problem they would have come to me to say as much. We rarely see the people in #1, who from time to time have had a child there with them. So that was probably the second child you were told about. The people in the next building were having their own problems with shootings and drug addicts as well. So for them to have been cognizant of any problems is rather doubtful.

As you’ve said before, you’ve never had a problem with me or my unit, but from day one Bobby has been a pain. You both have separately expressed this to me about him. He was not here 3 weeks before he complained and had an argument with P and D right outside of the apartment door about noise. What Bobby apparently fails to mention about his doings are:

1) When he decides to play music, he plays it so loud the sound is almost as if I’m playing music in my living room and it is loud and into the night.
2) I came home from school and had to knock on his door a few times before he realized I was there to ask him to turn it down.
3) I would come home in the afternoon to hear music blaring outside, emanating from his apartment and again loud in my house.
4) When my household is winding down at 8:30, he chose 9-10p to put up pictures which called for hammering on the wall while we are trying to settle down for work and school the next day.
5) When he has holiday gatherings his guests run up and down the back stairs, smoke to the point that smoke is in my apartment via the kitchen, and the music blares yet again because he keeps his kitchen door open.
6) When he has guests, no one questions or harasses them to find out who they are and who they’ve come to see, but he and George, especially when George is drunk (which is often) feel free to harass visitors for other people.
7) His guests park in all available spaces in the back. The most recent of these was on Memorial Day. I was gone for about 15 minutes. When I returned, someone was parked in the #4 and my spot crookedly and I had to go around the block to park in #6 correctly.
8) I remember when he had a complaint about Karmelle’s dog. I noticed that her dog is gone, but the cat that you probably see around the building is no longer a stray. He keeps the cat, feeds the cat and when the cat is outside, she kills mice and birds and leaves them in the walk way that he will “clean them up if I see them.”
9) Bobby lied to D the other night which resulted in D calling the police. What Bobby probably failed to mention was that the officer who showed up went completely off and cursed at Bobby because Bobby is ALWAYS frivolously calling the police on matters not of his concern and told Bobby not to ever call them again.
10) When the basement flooded, he and I spoke about it and if he said to me, “Well, she said they were going to come check this out, but they’re always lying about something. They lie about everything.” I wanted you to know this to show you who and how he is.
11) George comes home drunk and you can hear Bobby cussing him out all hours of the night. One of their arguments escalated into someone coming and looking for George at 6 or 7 am on a Sunday and Bobby leaned out of the window and cursed this woman out.
12) And the last of it is the weird guy that lives there with him from time to time that creeps everyone out. He’s nice enough, but if I come home at one in the morning and he’s sitting on the steps almost as if he’s waiting for me, I have a problem with that. Especially when he said to me, “I knew my queen would be coming back.”

But I’ve never mentioned any of these things to you because I would have liked to resolve this without having to get you involved in every little thing.

This could be viewed as revenge on Bobby and, in a way it is, but it is also to show that he doesn’t come without his problems and that my daughter is not the disrespectful monster he has painted her to be. This is evidenced by him going on her job and making a scene that could have cost her that job. She is now homeless, but trying her best to get and stay on her feet in spite of him trying to defeat that purpose. She will no longer stay with me or sleep over, but she will stop by from time to time to visit her son because he needs to see his mother. She has her instructions to ignore him and not to acknowledge him if she sees him.

I love living here and I love the neighborhood, but I can’t stand a two-faced, insincere opportunist who twists a situation to make himself smell like roses. He is conniving and manipulative. And to think this all started with sidewalk chalk.

I want this letter serve as a closing of this chapter for me, to move on and forward for us all. Since we both live here, I will avoid him when possible, you have my word. And when I can’t, Bobby doesn’t have to worry about me or anyone in my family speaking to him so he shouldn’t have anything further to call you about regarding us.

Thank you for your time and patience.
T

I call this elegantly petty. Just to show them who they are dealing with. I’m not stupid. Will update on why I will be sending this letter.
