Random musings in Life as a Mom of 2 boys.....and a girl!!

Sometimes I get the urge to do strange things. Like only buy the absolute necessities on grocery shopping day (milk/eggs/bread etc) to save money and then be forced to be creative with meals and snacks for the kids. It’s weird I know but we do have some stuff in the cupboard/fridge/freezer we could eat. And it would force us to eat stuff we don’t always eat. Like for meals I can think of lots of soup....I have lots of chicken burgers in the freezer, ground beef, pizza pockets, veggies and stuff like that. And for the kids snacks I have microwave popcorn, raisins I usually use for baking and this and that in there. Maybe on Friday when I grocery shop I will just buy less than usual so some of this stuff gets used up instead of going bad. I usually spend $200 every 2 weeks so maybe I will spend $150 instead and then since I’m paying off debt, throw that money on my credit card. How boring lol. We should totally just go blow it instead lol. Kidding. I’m not really like that. I am not one to buy myself random gifts and I actually have to think for a long time when Christmas comes because everyone wants a list of stuff I want and I totally draw a blank unless I think about it for a long time. Cuz I hate asking for or getting stuff I won’t use. Ideally I would get a stack of gift cards so I could buy whatever I felt like throughout the year.... but my family doesn’t really do that. Usually if I get a Walmart gift card I will just spend it on groceries cuz I have enough stuff already. I do like gifts though. Who doesn’t? I just never know what I want and I consider some things a waste. Like, I love to read but I just get books from the library because sometimes they are like $25 and I will only read them once so what’s the point?

Anyways.....gotta run. Baby is crying! Summer and I start mom and baby aquafit this afternoon. I can’t wait! Hopefully Miles won’t freak out about going into the community centre daycare for an hour (he’s never been in daycare....I have only ever left him with my mom or MIL). Fingers crossed it all goes well!
