When I was young I use to play doctor or hospital with my Cabbage patch kids. I would have them stay in the hospital using a tongue depressor to be the splint to hold the “IV” in there hand. I would often make cast for their legs and make the paperwork for the hospital admission. Today felt like that came true.
I would play this with one of my cousins’

My six month old went for surgery for clubbed feet. He’s‘ not much bigger than a Cabbage Patch Doll. He had the little IV and I signed my life away and watched this little guy go off to surgery only to return with casts on both his legs.
As he lied in the hospital bed looking at him this floods into my memory. The ironic part. My cousin (whom is sisters with the cousin I use to play this with) has a little boy that was having surgery the same day and time and we were in the same waiting room and so forth. A bit of ironic weirdness.

Little man is now on his 3rd set of casts for this . Looking back 2 yrs from now I will wonder why I ever bitched but till then......This can be a major hassle.

So now that its all said and done I”m bring home a little guy with casts on his legs with blood on the casts. Its summer.

Should I hide them or should I let them be and let people ask me about them.

I don’t care as I like people to know what is going on but in the same token I don’t want people that don’t ask to think I let something bad happen to him.

Part of me wants to draw on them -this is my clubbed feet journey.

We will see..
