Sunday night I set the alarm clock in my head and went to bed at the usual midnight. 7:32am I was awake. It seems as if the mental acuity is off a couple of minutes, but still functional.

I got up and got dressed in street clothes and walked a roundabout route to the credit union. As I reached for the door handle the door was being unlocked. 9am. Mental acuity concerning time and speed and distance seem to be absolutely still accurate.

After ordering a new debit card, now containing a chip, I walked back. It was a considerably cooler morning, the usual August heat slacking off some.

Back home I put on a pot of coffee and started a usual day.

While cleaning out my footlocker last week I decided to see about the status of Laptop #1. It is a Gateway with Windows XP purchased for $995 in 2002. It ran until Spring of 2009 when the screen went dark. So, I hooked it up to the monitor that Mom had given Daughter with the desktop. There was a compatible multi-pin plug. It worked fine. The reason for this is I wanted to transfer data that had accumulated between the last backup to the external hard drive and when the screen went dark. It was a successful operation. Now I can put Laptop #1 back into storage. At least I know it is still a viable option if needed in the future for some reason. The wifi card even still worked and it updated with 117 Windows updates. There was the oddity of the difference between the laptops square screen image looking all stretched out on the wide screen 24 inch monitor, but I’m sure there’s a setting to remedy that. All for later, if needed. Laptop #2 is still working after seven years hard use.

I’ve put aside the Summary of Philosophy for now. After metaphysics was infected with the god virus philosophy went to shit fast. I’ve read all the “major” works anyway.

I’ve found a new path to explore. One I haven’t really been down too far. I’m going to read Graham Hancock’s latest book. I watched several talks he’s put on youtube and I just ordered his latest book “Magicians of the Gods” from the library. I’ll see if his theories make more sense than the dogma already blowing the world to smithereens.

I believe he is right on one thing. That it doesn’t matter what method or substance you use to enhance awareness once you’ve achieved the awareness or the knowledge that awareness can be obtained, method or substance is no longer required. If it is, you’re not there yet. Fini.

Anyway, here I sit. Twiddling my thumbs and contemplating my belly button. Metaphorically.

Oh yeah, Hamm’s ark grand opening in Kentucky was a total bust. I wonder if the tax payers of the state will ask for their 100 million dollars back. Sometimes I’m truly amazed at the stupidity of humans.

I also just finished watching the two seasons of “Fargo”. A good story with a bunch of good actors. I enjoyed it.

I also finished the two seasons of “Mr Robot”. I’d say it was astounding. Right up there with The Sopranos and Breaking Bad.

Okay, that’s it. For a bit.

Edit:

Oops. Mr. Robot is still in Season 2. Episode 7 should be tonight. And I’ve heard it is to be renewed for a third season.
