Cecilia informed me of an interesting list that just recently came out.

10 Worst Places to Live in Iowa. Now, we figure we weren’t on the list because the smallest town analyzed was 5,000 people. There aren’t any towns in this county that are even close to 5,000 people! But that doesn’t mean the list doesn’t have interesting things to say.

10) Clinton
9) Maquoketa
8) Waterloo (one of the places we want to live more than where we are!)
7) Fort Dodge (it’s an hour away and still the biggest city “nearby”. It is the “weekend destination of choice” for Up North County.
6) Fort Madison
5) Centerville
4) Storm Lake (where Wife works and where everyone from Tiny Town goes to do any shopping)
3) Storm Lake (? Two?)
2) Keokuk
1) Council Bluffs (where I interned)

Funny thing about that list… Clive, Ankeny, and Urbandale all make the list and they are super close to where I grew up.

So… that’s the world I live in right now. I grew up in the best parts of the state… now live in the worst parts.

Yea, I know I’m just bitching but DAMMIT… every once of my soul screams “I JUST WANT TO GO HOME!”
