,,, always more.

I’m really getting a lot of good out of the cat knocking the radio on the floor. The radio is a prized possession. It is a duplicate of the one I bought my husband for the first Christmas we were married. It took one and one half of my weekly paychecks. He was pleased.

We brought it back home with us when we came back but like a lot of things it kind of disappeared. It didn’t work very well for the stations I wanted to listen to, we had other radios, etc. etc. I really don’t know what happened to it.

But when ebay and its bringing of the world to us, Jim started looking for it. It took quite while but eventually it showed up and Jim bought it. When it came it was in beautiful shape - just like new - but it still didn’t work very well for stations I wanted to listen to and it never got used that much.

The other day I put empty pizza boxes on top of the radio where it was sitting in the open cupboard. I know, I know, that was a really stupid thing to do. And then the black cat went investigating and ended up knocking the radio off the counter. The antenna was extended and it did not fare well. Jim tried to straighten it and failed and now it is really cockeyed and will not go up and down.

BUT…

The radio is working fabulously. I’m thinking the fall from the counter, caused by the black cat, completed the connection between antenna and whatever it’s supposed to connect with.

I can get Wisconsin Public Radio sharp and clear and I can hear the Democratic convention. I like political conventions. They are these big shows where we get to see our leaders and ourselves. I prefer the Dems but the Reps put on a good show too.

  • Radio is a Julliette 5 band portable circa 1965. I’ll show you a pic next time I’m in the photo mood.

Ok, a quick ten.

  1. Good day at work. It will be sad to lose my friends. There are a lot of good people there. I’ll miss the work too. I like putting harnesses together. Not all harnesses, not all the time, but a good part of the job is fun.

  2. Weather has moderated. It was hot and humid for a while and no doubt will get that way again, but now it’s pretty nice.

  3. Will is working on his vocabulary. He’s up for new words. I’m thinking ‘skittish’ and ‘triumvirate’. There’s been some interest in Latin roots.

  4. I found a new politician today. William Slattery is running for the Democratic nomination for the 6th US House district in Wisconsin. He’s been a Jesuit. He’s been a business executive. He is a farmer. A real farmer, he emphasizes. Before we get too excited though, we need to keep in mind that the last time a Democrat was elected in that district was 1964 and that person only had one term.

  5. Joe Biden has just said (in clips) that people who have lost family members will come to a time when the thought of the loved one will bring a smile before it brings a tear. He said he has had a lot of experience and he knows. (His first wife and one of his children was killed in a car crash and another son died of cancer not too long ago.)

  6. I have an appointment to give blood on August 8. My common, every day O pos.

  7. Oh, hell, ten is a lot.

  8. I usually get farther than this though before I run out of content.

  9. Not this time.

  10. Maybe I’ll be back. If I think of something.

Have fun, people. Enjoy these days. Come and tell me about them.

Leave Will a word.
