For over a decade, I have placed value in being more than just self-focused. If we are to live in a state, we should know what is going on in that state. If we are to live in a nation, we should know what is going on in that nation. If we are to live in a continent, we should know what is going on in that continent. And if we are to live in a world, we should know what is going on in that world. For that reason; I have long listened to news radio, read the BBC, and read the NHK English Translation. Because I want to know what is going on and I need to know how the world is progressing. But lately?

Really? Another ISIS Attack? This time attackers slit a priest’s throat IN HIS CHURCH in the North of France. Fuck. And while there was a massive stabbing in Japan… the ISIS thing bothers me more. The Japanese Story (as much as I love Japan, or at least the idea of Japan since I’ve never been there) fits my understanding of human nature. The attacker was a disgruntled, alleged mentally ill former employee of the area he attacked. People reacting violently to bad news… it is tragic, but it certainly makes sense from a Human Behavior perspective. This… dare I say, out of control… ISIS issue? That goes so far beyond my understanding of Human Behavior. It is so easy to start discussing “Crusades” and make this about Muslims at large… but all logical analyses point out why that is incorrect. These Muslim Terrorists typically kill as many or more Muslims as non-Muslims. So putting this on all Muslims is like seeing an abused women and putting that on all Men. First of all, it is an offensive over-simplification. Second of all, it takes the appropriate blame and shame off of the smaller group and tries to share it with a larger group. This is a specific group of people within the Muslim faith… IS, honestly, doesn’t even have a country or nation… so it is a group of violent, angry people perverting their faith for their own ends.

And I am so sick of it. I am not a Trump Supporter. But I’m starting to think that we need to find a way of actively punishing countries that aren’t going out of their way to stem the tide of IS. And… dangerous as the idea is… if there are countries that are openly friendly with IS.... we may want to begin to consider the possibility of another war. Because how can you look at the world, see what is going on, and then (as a Country) say “Yeah. We want to give guns, money, and safe passage to those people!” There just… there has to be more that we can do to stop this.
