Still alive. in A small but passable life.

What I would really like is to step outside into fifty degree weather. It has been six months since I’ve experienced that. I miss it.

It has been very hot and humid here. Today may be the first one hundred degree day of the year here. Of course, when I talked to Mom this morning she said it may be 110 there for the next few days.

I finished re-watching all four seasons of “Felicity”. It was fascinating to watch the invasive progression of technology into the plot. It ended before smart phones, but still it was a good history of the infestation of technology into everyday life. (1998-2002)

I heard a good description of facebook and most other tech companies business model. These companies make money from people pushing buttons. And the beauty of it is that they don’t have to pay people to do it. People voluntarily do it, mostly for egotistical reasons. A most brilliant plan. Too simple.

Anyway, I’m still going through the personal material possessions, winnowing out items one by one. I’m actually making a little progress. I decided I didn’t need a stockpile of spiral notebooks or the last two blank journals I bought a decade ago since I bought a newer one a few months ago. (Which I haven’t even started writing in yet.)

I went through my briefcase and decided that most of everything can be stored in my footlocker and then forgotten about. I put all my notes into one notebook, which created a huge jumbled up mess. Totally incomprehensible. But at least it’s all in one place.

So yeah, nothing new here.
