Daydreaming. in A small but passable life.

I did get the front lawn mowed Wednesday. And then it started storming and raining which has continued since. Four days now, off and on. 1.17 inches in the last seven days.

The back yard. The clearing in the forest. I don’t know what the ground cover is but it’s settled upon a height of about six inches or so. A nice green color. Until I find ticks or some other kind of insect infestation I think I’ll leave it be. The several piles of debris are still back there waiting to dry out enough to be bagged up and hauled off.

Liam Dog and I were up early this morning, 9am. I put on a pot of coffee and did my Sunday routine of shave and shower.

The Millennial who had been living here for nearly a year, out back in the RV has rented an apartment. That means Petey Dog who was couch surfing here has also left which means Ass Cat now has the free run of the downstairs and is no longer cooped up in the stairwell. I’m not going to let her upstairs though. She had got in the habit of using the room next to this one as a litter box. Not a good thing. So I’ll keep the door at the top of the stairs closed.

For nostalgia’s sake I watched the first episode of “Felicity” last night. It was filmed in 1998. There were no cell phones or laptops. None of the students were packing big huge backpacks. There were landline phones in the dorm rooms. And there were payphones on walls. Students were reading books and papers instead of staring at screens. When they gathered together there was actual conversation and personal interaction instead of everyone just staring at screens. It’s hard to believe that wasn’t even twenty years ago. It makes one wonder what’s coming in the next twenty years. Probably nothing good.

Motorhome or sailboat? It has to be a sailboat. If not a sailboat it’ll have to be a backpack. I have at least a dozen sailboats on youtube that I’ve been following for years. All of them knew nothing about sailing when they first bought their boats.

One German gal just did her first five day four night solo cruise in the Caribbean and this is only her second season.

Another young couple are halfway around the globe in their second season.

Used sailboats are plentiful and cheap.

I already have a backpack though.

So yeah, I’ll just sit here and daydream a bit more.
