Kids can drive you crazy but they can also be incredibly cute! This morning Cody was lying next to Summer and they were staring at each other and smiling and he said, “I love her Mommy. Can we keep her forever?” Those moments just melt my heart! He makes sure she’s not going anywhere all the time, like as if I’m going to give her away or something lol. And then he asks me if I could pretty please have 10 more babies. Ha!
Summer had her 2 month needles this morning. There was an oral dose and then a needle in each thigh. Poor baby, she had that look of shock on her face and then screamed until her face was beet red after the 2nd shot. But I picked her up and she was fine after a minute or two. Not a nice thing to have happen to you when you were snoozing peacefully on your Mommy’s shoulder just minutes before. She’s healthy though which is all that matters. At 9.5 weeks, she is now 10lbs, 15oz and 21 inches (at one month she was 9lbs 4oz and 20 inches) so I’m glad she’s growing well. She still fits in newborn diapers and her biggest newborn sleepers (some have been put away). I want her to stay small forever lol. Or at least it would be nice to freeze the cutest ages for a little while. Like this age is fairly cute, although it will be nice when she can hold up her head by herself. She’s getting there but it will probably take her another month. I’m guessing the needles will make her sleep the day away. That’s what happened with the boys anyways whenever they had needles.
I can’t get over how calm Summer is. She mostly just cries if she’s tired and needs help falling asleep or if she’s hungry. Both boys cried in the car until they were around 6 months and she only did that for the first month, now she is okay most of the time. And both boys had the night time crying until they were 3 months old and she isn’t doing that at all. Last night her and I went to bed at 11pm and she woke up at 7am probably because she could hear Miles on the monitor saying “Help me Mommy! Help!” lol. He says that sometimes when he wants up since he’s still in a crib. We are buying bunk beds in either July or August for the boys since Summer will need to be out of her bassinet and into the crib in a few months. She is small so she still has plenty of room in the bassinet. Cody outgrew the bassinet at 3 months and Miles at 5 months and she’s shorter than them so I could probably have her in there until October if I wanted to but I’m going to make sure the boys are settled in their bunk beds and used to sleeping in the same room well before Cody starts school again which is September 6th. I’m nervous about how it will go but I’ll make it work somehow (no choice, we only have 3 bedrooms here lol).
Today is Teddy bear picnic day for Cody’s class (junior kindergarten). He was so excited to go since they were going to eat outside and play at a park and a splash pad. I took the boys to the splash pad on the weekend for the first time and they had an awesome time. They’re a bit tentative to get wet at first but eventually Cody got soaked and Miles got about 1/4 of his body wet. I was going to let them stay as long as they wanted but eventually Cody claimed he was STARVING so he wanted to go home. My boys are always starving these days. I can’t believe how much food we go through. I get a bit embarassed when we go visit my parents because the boys just want to eat endlessly and they know my parents sometimes have special treats for them so they get super excited about that lol. My mom and I took the kids out to dinner one night last week while Mike was at baseball and my dad was volunteering somewhere and we couldn’t believe how much food Miles consumed. He ate a bunch of bread, some of my salad and then a massive plate of spaghetti and of course ice cream for dessert. This kid is almost 3 and he is 27lbs and about 3 feet tall and not growing much lately so where does he put it? He must burn it off running around all the time.
Anyways, the kids are both asleep so I better eat some lunch while I have the chance. Oh and I decided to start my weight loss efforts next Monday instead since we are going to the beach this weekend and I find it so much harder to count calories when we have a weekend away.
Here’s a couple recent pics of Summer....one I took Saturday and one I just took since she is snoozing away and oh so cute!
