LEAVE and the future. in Voices Windward

On finding out my father is voting to LEAVE … I set to thinking about the possible future for my little sister.

It’s not just that she wouldn’t be able to live in Italy for a few years without massive paperwork, or that she wouldn’t go to college with people from across Europe… it’s not that she going to play with Toys made with lesshealth and safty or that her nation would build a cycle path to Moscow…

I think it’s more that she’s going to be closed off and isolated as one by one the dark faces disappear, that the people in authority and those who will probably replace them with protest vote will push for the silencing of the gay community, they will continue to steal her education from her and place her in the shackles of debt without the option and possibility of choosing for herself from a wider spectrum of places and people.

It’s that when she grows up and feels ashamed of her countries xenophobic nature she’ll have no place to voice it becuase we didn’t keep the human rights that would allow her to get together with friends and demonstrate and she’ll face arrest for calling out online.

She’s going to grow up with fox hunting being the norm again with care for animals and the environment being a thing fo the past, as she is told that climate change isn’t real and that ethics are an abstract concept she doesn’t need to apply to herself.

I’m worried that as a female she will have no higher court to appeal too when her society fails to understand her needs, that she will be an object in the eyes of her employers and feel no equality in her life and as a gamer she will always be sold a mockery and never get to meet the international people she games with.

I’m worried that in the hard times in her life she will find no support from her community as she is shoved into ever smaller flats, ever more isolated as she is told to be proud by her peers and finds herself demonised by comrades.

I’m worried about her future as the nations divides and makes a nightmare, as those with democratic and liberal voices dwindle and die out as we more and more accept the angry hostile voices of the right wing and the capitalist oligarchs who foster their venom with vindicture headlines and pushing a society of hatred which gives birth to petty little groups of thugs she’ll either never hear off or fear constantly.

I’m worried that for the price of the appeal to the 19th century empire her future in a world without borders will be sold off, that her fathers patriotism and love of his land and local authority will see him side with racists, homophobes and capitalists who will pervert he honest intent into a dark facist nightmare.

I know a lot of the left relish leaving, either they have deluded themselves into fearing the LIZARD JEW NWO and it’s EU puppet or they want “one less government”… and worst the pot of people who want to push and push until the masses see how evil these facist oligarchs have been all along and they can try for an overt revolution that will never happen thats been planned out and dream off by the oppressed and angry.

If we leave we will see nightmares, we will embed bigotry and xenophobia at the heart of our society and we will no longer be able - as a community - the lip synch equality and social morality. We betray ourselves.

Leaving is slow death to the sound of thunderous applause.
