A mission. in A small but passable life.

Liam Dog and I finally got out for a much needed walk yesterday. It was a short one, but nice.
When we returned I got to work on the mower. I couldn’t find the roll of bailing wire so I found an old wire coat hanger. The stick idea didn’t work. I ended up grabbing a pair of vice grips and just clamped the broken handle to the wheel adjustment thingy. I worked well enough to get the front yard mowed.
Later on I rode with Daughter out to Home Depot. She had done research online and found the best deal on a deep freezer. Home Depot had two Magic Chef models. A 5.2 cubic foot for $148 and a 6.9 cubic foot for $168. She bought the bigger model. We stuffed it in the van and brought it home. It took awhile to clear a space on the back porch, but we got it back there. The kitchen freezer was nearly full and after we got everything in the new chest freezer the stuff barely covered the bottom.
After some research online we found out that we should be able to get maybe upwards of over two hundred pounds of meat in there. (About 35 pounds per square foot.)
The setting we set it at is 4 on a scale of 0 to 7 and the temperature after one night is 0, so that should be cold enough.
We’ll be making a major meat purchase a week from tomorrow at the farmer’s market from Middleton Farms. And possibly some bison meat from another vendor.
While we were at Home Depot we found a real nice tool chest. It was a huge thing with a wood top at work bench height. We both agreed it would look nice on the back porch. And it would consolidate the half dozen tool boxes into one box. That would be SO nice. The price was right, less than $200, so it is definitely on the “maybe some day” list.
I don’t know what we’ll be doing today. It rained a bit more so the back yard is still too wet to work out there.
I guess I’ll just sit here for a bit.
