no exact science in poetry

the terrible thing about being human
is that you are never completely wrong
while also you are never completely right
it’s the wonderful thing about being human as well
there is no greater sign of weakness than certainty
there’s no greater sign of having no idea than stridently
pretending to know something exactly
we are swinging in the darkness
we’re spinning a maypole called the sun
it’s okay to admit you’re making this all up
because you’re far from the only one
dipping your hands into life’s waters
only to find a spoonful weighs a ton
it’s terrible but also unbelievable
it’s wonderful but also inconceivable
just to be alive
just for a time
