Here fishy, fishy in Adventures in paradise

I went to the aquarium yesterday. I came across it by accident. I was at a red light and I saw a building in the far distance whose name started with ‘AQU’ and I couldn’t make out the rest, but I was like “Oooo, it could be!” and as I got closer, I saw it was.
I went there twice, to look at getting some fish for the tank that’s I’ve had set up for ages now, but I walked away with nothing. Haha. I should just put some fake fish in there. I can get those, right? I won’t have to feed them or clean up after them that way.
Clearly, I’m struggling to commit to owning a fish haha.

I took a few snaps to get some ideas. My favourites were the black angelfish, and I was so close to getting them, then chickened out cos they were serving other customers haha.

These ones were an option - colourful, bright, energetic, not that expensive

They had a lot of display only tanks which were cool to look at

Here’s the black angelfish that I was interested in. There’s at least 6 of them in there, which was interesting because I researched that you’re not meant to put more than 2 in a tank together. They were also chasing around the Tetras and it looked like they were trying to eat them, but the Tetras were too fast.
What’s with me seeing animals trying to eat each other this week??

This big fella was in a front display tank. Mightn’t look like it from this pic, but he was BIIIIG.

Look at those lips.

I ended up walking out, even though I had the car and it’s probably the only way I’m able to transport fish home, as there’s no aquariums near my home. I went there twice and for a big drive later in the day because I knew parking was shit around the streets near where I live so I wanted to time it so that I could get one when I arrived home. Fishless.

I’m thinking now that I might as well get rid of all the water and return the tank to my room. The whole idea was to set it up when I was in a place other than living here, hopefully of my own, but it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen. Never know though. I still have a doona I bought 2 years ago that I haven’t opened for the same reason. I wanted to use it in a new home haha. If I keep going the way I’m going, I’ll have accumulated all this stuff.

I went over to Vish’s later that night after they got home from dinner. I also got to meet the younger brother of the new housemate, and yeah he’s pretty funny, like they said he was. I took my new phone over to show the boys and when it was handed back to me, I found this shocking photo in my photo-folder that James has kindly taken. I made sure to tell him that we all looked horrific and “Thanks for that!” :P

I must have been in mid-conversation. Either that or I always look like a leper.

I took a Snapchat selfie when I got the phone back

I then went for a final drive out to the DFO woolies to grab some grapes. I had a craving some some reason. I then took the car back this morning and realized the damn fuel gauge had gone down a notch from ‘full’, and I didn’t have time to fuel it back up unless I wanted to be charged for another day, so I’m sure they’ll charge me an arm and a leg just for the few litres top-up it needs grrr. They charge like over triple the price if you don’t fuel it up yourself. Oh well, at least it was mostly full. And of course I didn’t need the insurance after all that, as usual.

When I returned the keys, the lady asked me how the wedding went and I replied, “It was lovely!” “Oooo, smooth!” I thought to myself, “Great customer service remembering that.”
