Leave me be in Adventures in paradise

Well I’m sure the shit’s going to hit the fan in this household. Because I told Alex all about what had happened here these past two weeks, he’s gone and emailed our landlord about it all plus God else know’s what, bitching about Nick, so of course, in typical Andrew-fashion, I get this Facebook message from him saying, “Matt if you aren’t feeling comfortable in the house, I need to know immediately when stuff like this happens.”
I replied to him that I wanted to speak to Nick first to get his side of the story before letting him know what had happened, but I guess it doesn’t work that way. My two housemates whose rooms are upstairs are like chalk and cheese. They do not get along at all. I get along with them both relatively fine, but I’m hardly close with either, either. So I’m not exactly a peacemaker between the two, nor do I want to be.
They both say hi to me when we run into each other, and that’s enough for me. We don’t have to be friends. I’ve lived with that many housemates that some I just naturally get along with, and others I don’t.
So Nick would have most-likely read this email from Andrew this morning, before I’ve had the chance to talk to him. He cleaned up a lot of the kitchen yesterday but there’s still smashed glass on top of the stereo system and the floor is disgusting. I had to bring in glasses from the front verandah (yeah THAT’s a good sight for the foot-traffic walking past) and all the kitchen chairs back into the house from the back-deck. The ashtray is still full of ciggie butts. It’s pretty gross.
So I explained to Andrew what had happened here, but the truth is, Nick could be none-the-wiser as to what happened before all his mates decided to break into the house when he wasn’t here. At least that’s what I gather what happened. But the point is, that wouldn’t have happened if the upstairs balcony door hadn’t been left wide-open, and given that the voices coming from outside my bedroom seemed like bogan straight guys, of course they are going to notice that and hoist themselves up the side of the house (difficult, but possible) and let everyone else in.
So yeah, Nick has some fucking growing up to do and basically the email was about respecting other housemates and that when people moved in here, there was a set of basic rules to adhere to. The email also stated “NO MORE HOUSE PARTIES.”
Yeah. Right. As if that’s gonna happen.
I didn’t mention to Andrew anything about the drugs being snorted off the kitchen counter last weekend.
When I asked Nick what the residue of white powder was about, his response was just like, “Don’t ask.”
So yeah, given the guys (and especially straight guys) being here unsupervised and the drug-use, Nick would probably be out on his cute arse by now, had the landlord been living here.
Generally, he is a normal and great guy the rest of the week. And I can understand wanting to let loose every so often. That’s why I’m more lenient toward him, but couple a few stupid things done whilst drunk/high and another housemate who can’t stand him, things are looking pretty shit right now.
I guess I just have to wait and see if Nick will say anything to me. There’s no way Andrew would have known unless it came through me. Alex isn’t here on the weekends.
I will just have to be upfront and tell him that I told Alex and Alex relayed what happened to Andrew. Because that’s the truth.
I remember thinking to myself yesterday, “I’m 32. I’m too old for this 20-year old bullshit. I’ve got better things to worry about.”
But I wasn’t comfortable on Sunday night. That’s for damn sure. Shit got broken and it was very loud and there were strangers in my fucking home. The fact is, NO-ONE should be here unless you are, and the doors need to be closed and locked. This is not on.
And I can hear EVERYTHING from my room, including conversations and people talking right outside my window on the street. The voices just carry through. No wonder I got woken up.
And I’m still grumpty because this cough STILL hasn’t completed fucked off yet :( I. Just. Do. Not. Understand.
I’ve been searching my room for a source. A trigger. Anything that could be setting it off. But I swear I’ve cleaned the dust off everything there is!
In happier news, I’m getting my hair coloured today. It will be weird just going in for a colour without the cut, but the cut is already done. I only want to get a little bit of colour through it to give it a bit more of a ‘look’. So I’m thinking I’ll opt for the half-head of foils, because it should look decent and it’ll be cheaper getting less also.
My new gym gloves arrived in the mail too! They are extra-large (because I have massive hands) and they only JUST fitted when I tried them on. They should be good though. Not that I’ve been to gym in forever because of this fucking thing I’ve got :(
I’ve also had a bruise appear on my left leg. I have no idea when I hit it against something, but it is rather sore to touch. So now because I’ve been sick for so long and I have one bruise, my brain has convinced me that I have HIV. LOL, thanks for that, brain! I thought I needed to have sex to get that.
I said no to seeing Ryan on the Gold Coast tomorrow. I’m just not feeling well enough yet.
Moe initially texted me to ask if I wanted to catch up for coffee yesterday, and I haven’t seen him (or anyone) in ages, so I said yes, but then he cancelled a little while later because he said the cafe closed early due to the public holiday.
My new laptop has arrived already! I only ordered it on Sunday night and it arrived this morning, from Sydney! I know this because of the tracking service. So I got an email to come and collect it, and I’ve written it down on paper since my phone is too shithouse to stay on long-enough for me to read anything off of it.
So I’ll go get that after I get my hair coloured, and hopefully my next entry I can write from a new spiffy machine :D
I also tried cleanining the inside of this one to see if it made any difference to the jet-plane noises coming from it, but no such luck. Oh well, at least I know this one will still work (albeit annoying) if ever I have trouble with the new one (touch wood!).
I now just have to await for my new phone to arrive and hopefully I can get back to normal.
Cough, oh cough, WHY won’t you leave me be?
