Ultrasound is scheduled for 9.00am tomorrow. I can’t eat or drink for 6 hours prior. The eating doesn’t bother me, but I’m getting thirsty just thinking about not having a drink in the morning. I will also have to negotiate peak hour traffic from one side of the city to the other. Thankfully I am not a coffee drinker, I can’t imagine trying to do that and be strung out from not having caffeine.
Tonight I am off to the see the Symphony Orchestra. They have a somewhat aging audience, and have moved their start time to 6.30pm which is very convenient for me. I’m thinking it will be over by 8.30pm or thereabouts, I drove into town this morning as I can’t face the thought of having to wait around for a bus afterwards (they only run hourly at that time of the day).
We have a three day weekend coming up, Monday is Anzac day (kind of like Veterans day). Stores are closed until 1.00pm and then of course people go crazy, because they have had to wait until then (and can’t possibly do anything else but shop on a day off). I’m heading north to visit my Mother, thankfully Terri is coming with me – her Dad lives in the same town (with a recently imported Russian wife). We are staying at their house on Saturday night, which will be awful. Terri is still very wary of the new wife, and her Dad built the house they live in – which features such idiosyncrasies as a shower that opens up into the hallway (and main thoroughfare of the house).. We are only going for one night, which will be plenty (and we still get a day to recover from the 9 hour round trip).
I bought a new microwave to replace the rusting one I had. The box has been the BEST fun ever for my 2 cats. Last night I poked a stick with feathers on it through one of the handles and we played for about 2 hours. Then I served up some cat nip, which took it to a whole other level. Hmm, maybe I need to get out more……. .
