Home stretch in Stuff

I’m back from the dentist. On the home-stretch now, thank God. One more appointment left to go, and I’ve booked it for two weeks time, that way it’s on a non-rent week.
It went pretty well. I had three fillings done in an hour appointment, but for some reason the third filling wouldn’t ‘sit’ or something. There’s all that weird dental terminology where she kept asking her assistant for ‘matrix’s and ‘dry walls’. I was just like, ‘Fuck I hope this numbness doesn’t wear off’ because it was becoming quite sensitive toward the end there, but I didn’t want to ask for more numbness because I didn’t want to have to deal with that sharp pinch again. I’ve had it three times now! One more to go. One more to go.

Being an adult sucks sometimes. I have to sit down and work out exactly how much I’ve forked over to these guys, since I was ‘misquoted’ for the root canal so that ended up being an extra $250ish ouch. I have two more fillings to go, but the dentist then said we need to decide what to do about the old root canal tooth. Wait, what? I thought that WAS the second filling option. According to my second quote sheet, I only have five fillings, and three of them were completed today, so why would I have another two, plus that tooth? Anyway, I think I’ll just tell her to leave it. It’s not causing me any issues for now.

Talk about timing though. I got an email late last night from Velocity Rewards saying they have teamed up with the dental company I’ve been going to. A few hours before I was due to go there lol. Unfortunately it only applies to the basic check-up procedures because otherwise they’d be handing out like a billion points to me with the amount of moolah I’ve forked over to them the past month.
Anyway, I brought my Velocity card anyway, even though it’s not really a reward program I make use of, and she asked if I had one and entered my details, so yay. It doesn’t seem like it’s many points anyway. I only entered my Velocity details on my return flight from London since it was a Virgin flight and I thought ‘why not?’ but I don’t think I have many points with them.
I did get a free toothbrush with the flyer she handed me though.
Bloody expensive toothbrush! At least I don’t have to buy a new one for a while. It’s the small things.

I’m getting my groceries delivered today, since my work now does free delivery on Wednesdays. The only bad thing about ordering online just after midnight on a Wednesday is that a lot of the specials haven’t been uploaded to the system yet, so I just have to go without. But if I ordered any later than then, I probably would have missed the last delivery cut-off window. I think I might be able to get away with it if I order it first thing when I wake up on a Wednesday, then it may just be all uploaded, and it’ll just get delivered that night. I figure free-delivery Wednesday would be pretty popular though, since it’s normally a $11 delivery fee on other days.

I’m fucking starving! I don’t eat before I have dental appointments because I’m pretty sure I’m not meant to and I don’t want any food stuck around there, even though I clean before I go. She said not to eat until the numbness has worn off, but it’s still quite apparent at the moment, dammit. She said to expect the teeth to feel weird for a few days also. Great, this again.

I passed a really hot guy on my walk back, just a street over from mine. He had slicked back blonde hair and was only wearing the classic jeans and a white-t, but MAN I love when guys wear that combination. The other combo I like is when a guy is actually brave enough to wear a pink shirt - the more pastel the better. It’s damn rare to see that here, but when I do, hol-y, come home to Mama!

I wanted to jump his bones, but with my mouth still all numbed up, I wouldn’t have been able to feel anything. Hey, that could’ve worked in my favour? :D
He looked very straight anyway. Boo. Where’s my single girls when I need em? I need deets!
