[1] What did you do in 2013 that you have never done before? I took classes to become a foster parent. I spent several days teaching, I was a sub but it was still a first. I went to a ski resort in VT, even though it was out of season
[2] Did you keep all of last years resolutions? I don’t normally make them.
[3] Have you any resolutions for next year? No.
[4] What countries did you visit? None. Sadly.
[5] What would you like to have in 2014 that you didn't have in 2013? A baby. Or a small child. Or two small children. Or one baby and one small child. And also, a house.
[6] What date in 2013 will remain etched in your memory? September 7, Ethan was born.
[7] What was your biggest achievement of the year? As a friend said, sometimes getting out of bed is an accomplishment but for realsies it’s probably taking a job as a substitute teacher
[8] What was your biggest failure? I’m the only person that will say this, but not having a child.
[9] Did you suffer any illness or injury? I fell on the ice two weeks ago, twice, and now my neck is messed up.
[10] What was the best thing you bought? My new tattoo
[11] Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed? Sometimes mine, sometimes others.
[12] Where did most of your money go? Bills, and bags
[13] What did you get really excited about? Ethan being born, staying in York for an extended time. Christmas. Teaching
[14] What songs will always remind you of 2013? I don’t really work that way.
[15] Compared to this time last year are you: [A] Fatter or thinner? Maybe a bit thinner [B] Happier or sadder? I’d have said sadder but I recently took care of that with a tattoo. [C] Richer or poorer? Richer.
[16] What do you wish you'd done less of? Complaining about stuff. Crying over fertility issues
[17] How will you be spending Christmas? We are at home.
[18] Which OD users did you meet for the first time? None.
[19] Did you fall in love in 2013? Liam changes almost daily and I fall in love with him over and over again. Also Ethan.
[20] How many one night stands? hahahahahahahaha
[21] What was your favorite TV show? Once Upon a Time, Bones, Switched at Birth, Scandal, The New Girl, The Mindy Project… you know, I watch a lot of TV
[22] Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year? No, I think I’ve gotten over all of that
[23] What was/were the best books you read? HA HA HA HA HA! I read over 100 books this year, you think I know the best ones?
[24] What was your greatest musical discovery? Just more country
[25] What did you want and get? A pearl necklace to match my earrings. A Harry Potter tattoo.
[26] What did you want and not get? A baby. I really need to let this go
[27] What was your favorite film this year? The Hunger Games: Catching Fire
[28] What did you do on your birthday and how old were you? On my actual birthday I went out with Liam for lunch and ordered dinner in. I turned 29. The weekend prior though we had a party at our complex’s pool.
[29] What one thing made your year more satisfying? Taking foster/adoption classes.
[30] How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2013? Not fashionable. Dresses in the summer and Dresses with stretch pants in the cold.
[31] What kept you sane? My faith
[32] Which celebrity did you fancy the most? The guy who plays Finnick Odair, and Jennifer Lawrence
[33] Which political issue stirred you the most? Well, several things but….I’m not going into them here.
[35] Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned this year? I don’t have to be unhappy if I don’t want to be.
Did anyone close to you give birth? Yes, Lauren, Kim, several friends from Albright.
Did anyone close to you die? Nope
Whose behavior merited celebration? Liam’s without a doubt.
What do you wish you’d done more of? Maybe exercise.
How will you spend your New Year? Maybe alone.
Who did you miss? Liam when I was here for the birth and my family when I’m in NH.
Who was the best new person you met? Um, I really like our caseworker.
