Lily Meets Santa Saturday, December 17, 2011

All the way to the mall Lily told me she wanted me to hold her when we saw Santa. The closer we got to the mall the more hair twirling and thumb sucking Lily did. When we got the the mall she wouldn't even get out of the car with out me holding her. I carried her across the parking lot, through the doors, and through the mall looking for the man in the red suit. When I finally spotted the man my arm hurt from holding her but that was ok. She held me tight but kept looking at him. Finally the person working the camera came over and asked lily if she wanted to run the camera and take a picture of mom with Santa. Lily said yes and off she went with the nice lady. I sat next to Santa and this made lily excited.

Finally it was Lily's turn. She climbed on my lap with Santa and together she told Santa what she wanted. What did she ask for? She wants a scooter, a pillow pet, and a leaf blower! (yes santa got her most of those)

Lastly, Santa asked her if she wanted a present to which she replied, "yes." He showed her some coloring books and she looked at me and them with a confused look on her face. I grabbed her one and she reluctantly walked away. Finally she stopped and with the most sad eyes anyone has ever seen she looked up at me and whispered, "I wanted a scooter." It almost broke my heart that she didn't understand that she had to wait for Christmas. I did explain the whole thing to her and how she had to wait and she seems fine with that... well until we went to Burger King and somehow Santa was there too. This santa looked different and she noticed. She kept looking at him with inquisitive eyes. I think she on to us!
