There!! in At the foot of the hill

I finally got caught up on reading my friends after having my internet down for about a week. It’s still really iffy, but with patience I can get here. Have completely lost my facebook connection and it looks like I will have to make a whole new account. I have been very, very frustrated during this time and have threatened (myself) to just stay away from the computer…but I miss my friends too much to do that.

My sister is here from California now so I have not been playing so much bridge nor taking part in all the social activities I usually do. Have been busy with other stuff. Today we plan to go over to our cousin’s place and spend some time with her. Her husband passed away recently and his memorial was last week. Her kids who live in Virginia, Boston, Oregon and England have all gone home and she is alone in a nursing home. The trauma of being alone is just beginning to hit her and her family and care-givers have asked us to be there for her when we can. Her health is so poor we don’t think she’ll last long, but she may well surprise us.

Some other stuff we have been doing while sister is here includes playing cards, watching “House of Cards” on Netflix from the beginning, and working on family history.

I hope I can connect with all of you here and will give you my new Facebook name when I get it set up and going.
Edit: I just managed to get into my old Facebook account. Maybe I can still be there awhile longer....
