A certain strain in the marriage is time. Today reminds me of the interesting push/pull of it all. I’ve been awake since 6 am… at work since around 8… I’ll be home before 4 pm. Wife went to work at 1. So, I’ll have been awake for 10 hours and done 8 hours at work when she is 3 hours into her shift. She gets off work at 10 ish. Home around 11. So I’ll have been awake for 17 Hours and off work for 7 hours by the time she gets home. That certainly plays havoc. Especially considering how negative she is after work… how sensitive she is to “How was your day?” She snaps, I’m tired and we both end up with sour feelings. Granted, it doesn’t HAVE to be that way tonight.... but these statistics are repeating… and more often than not… it plays out that way.
