Poop-tastic (Snippet) Monday, August 01, 2011

I have been potty training Lily for what seems to be years. She was doing really well when we first started. She never even wet her pants. However, she refuses to poop in the potty. Well, that's not exactly true. Sometimes she does. Most of the time she doesn't. It's annoying and been going on for months. Finally the other day I told her, "This is the last time I am cleaning poop out of your underwear. If you poop in your pants again, you are cleaning it." It didn't take long. The next day she pooped in her underwear and said, "Change me!"

I simply said, "Remember? I told you I wasn't doing that anymore." So she walked into the bathroom and took her pants off and grabbed the wipes. I couldn't see what she was doing because she had closed the bathroom door part-way. After about 5 minutes it got really quiet. That was my cue to go in there and see what was going on.

When I walked in, there was poop on the floor and poop all over the toilet. She had poop all over her legs, and I am guessing her foot too. I couldn't tell. Her foot was in the toilet and she was "washing" it. I couldn't help but laugh (under my breath) seeing her half way in the toilet. She was trying so hard to clean herself up.

After getting her and the bathroom poop-free I decided that just changing her poopy underwear myself is probably the way to go.

it took david a while to catch on to pooping in the toilet but it was like, one day he refused to go in the toilet and the next day he was using the toilet. i don't know what changed. [ephemeral] [p] 8/1/2011 11:12:18 PM

Have you tried the poop jar yet? Every time she poops in the toilet she gets to add a marble or something like that to a jar. When it gets full she gets to trade it for a toy or a movie or something else she really likes. [muted exposure] 8/2/2011 11:10:25 AM
my cousin puts her daughter, in the soiled panties, into the shower and makes her clean herself up in there...she helps after a few minutes, and of coures sanitizes the shower after, but it worked...Mena hated having to do it and quickly learned to use the the toilet instead [Tiburon's Rose]
