Perhaps a New Job?! (EDIT) Tuesday, November 16, 2010
Wow! What a week! Other than completely flunking my ASL course everything is going great. I have no idea how to catch up in ASL. I just can't do it. UGH! I can sign, but I can't "read" other people's signs. It makes me feel stupid and slow. Blah. And I have to sign up for next term classes today. I have no idea what to do. Should I take SIGN 1 again? Should I take sign 2? Should I just drop the whole idea of learning SIGN? I don't even know if I am going to pass SIGN1. If I don't then I can't take SIGN 2. It's such a high demand class that I can't wait to sign up and see. I won't get in. I have to decide today. Blah.
So their is a lot of good news. The best news is the owner of my old place of employment (the apartment complex) gave my name to her son as a suggestion to help him get his store in order. He called yesterday and offered me a job! How cool is that?! In this state of economic dissaster I got offered a job with out even applying! Just by word of mouth! That makes me feel soooo much better. I was left with a little bit of a bad taste in my mouth when I was let go because I wasn't told I was being let go until the actual day I was "let go." I thought I was going down to part time but they decided they didn't need a part timer so I was "let go." I wasn't really upset about that, but I was upset that everyone was told, except me. They threw a party for me too. Which was nice, but it was hard for me to celebrate being let go, especially when you just find out 15 minutes previously! So as you can see, I was irritated. But, I just swallowed my pride and pretended like nothing was wrong. I even sent them a thank you note for letting me work there and that I appreciated the opportunity to work there... blah blah blah. And BAMB! it paid off! They remembered me ( a year later) and suggested me to work for their new business. Yippy! AND! This comes just after a week or so of freaking out because I have run out of money! I go talk to the owner's son tomorrow.
Also, my EKG class, my pathology class, AND my physics are 4.0s! I just have to keep them there for 4 more weeks. THEN school is done and I have an associates degree! FINALLY!
So life is good... if I could just pass my ASL class somehow.
- Oh I forgot! Diabetes came out negitive. I was tested because I had gestational diabetes and have been having an issue of light-headedness when not eating

yay for no diabetes! take the class again if you really want to learn it. second time around will be much easier. there are some online videos that might help as well.

Great news! Sign was always easier for me to DO than to READ as well...I think it has to do with us being so used to HEARING in a conversation, it's hard to focus on watching one. [Mommy2Katie] 11/16/2010 9:59:39 PM
maybe a tutor in sign? i've taken sign up to sign 4. its not easy to learn a language as you get older. i would recommend a tutor or someone who knows the language inside and out. it is harder for people to read asl then to do it. however i had the oppsite problem i could understand perfectly, but i could spit it back out.
