So Proud Sunday, October 24, 2010
I have never in my life felt more pride in my daughter then I did last night. She, at two years was so well behaved, so sweet, and expressed so much merriment I couldn't help but bubble over in pride.
I took her to a wedding reception. She smiled and played the whole time. And when she smiles, her face lights up. It lights up so intensly that it's electric. You can't help but smile back. Her eyes shine.
She danced the entire night. She loves to dance. Yes, I know. Most kids like to dance. However, this is different. She has danced ever since she could move. I have a video of her at 3 months old watchint TSO and you can see her feeling the rhythm of the music. By age 6 months she bounced on her butt. At age one, she danced on her feet. Now, at age two she has moves. If the music is slow, she slows down and sways to the music. She LOVES to dance... and at age two, she dances as though no one is watching.
I watched her dance all night. At one point the whole place was watching her as she did her signature move of standing in the middle of the dance floor and nodding her head to the beat of the music. Everyone was pointing and laughing. Then there were 3 20-something year old guys on dance floor with her that turned to her and put their hands out and asked for "High-fives." Lily smiled and went to each one and gave each one a high five. The guys laughed and opened up their dancing circle so she could dance with them. My body filled with so much pride I nearly cried. My daughter was winning over the hearts of everyone and I was watching it happen right before my eyes.
At the end of the night my mom and dad were both stopped by one of the guys and asked if that was their grand child. When they replied yes, the guy said, "That is the coolest child I have ever met." When my parents told me that I was getting things around and nearly cried tears of pride. Hell, I didn't even know there was such a thing as pride-filled tears.
Lastly, before we left, the mother of the bride called my daughter, the star of the night. And my baby girl went to every one in the room and kissed every single person bye bye. All I had to say is, "kiss Uncle Shawn bye bye" and she went right up to him and stuck out her lips. She kissed everyone, Uncles, Great-Uncles, and all. She didn't whine or run away. She showed the whole room what an absolute blessing I have in my life.
I don't know what I did in my life to deserve her, but I must have done something good. My God am I blessed. She is complete joy.
Love,
Her

What a darling little girl! Maybe she will be in dance when she gets older? Are you thinking of putting her into ballet? [prettylittlekitty] 10/26/2010 11:52:43 AM
