I finally got out today to get groceries. I walked out of my apartment door, took three steps and went back in again. I had forgotten not only my cane but my list and the bag-on-wheels I use to bring the groceries into the apartment.

Eventually, I got going and went first to Staples where my Great Big Pressure Cooker Book has taken up residence for a week! You may remember I am getting it spiral bound but since it is such a huge book, they didn’t have the right size spirals so had to order some. The guy telling me this said it would probably take about two weeks to get the big spirals but I thought it wouldn’t hurt to pop in and see what was happening. The young lady behind the counter told me the spirals were coming in on Tuesday so the book would get done either Wednesday or Thursday and yes, they would call me!

On to Targets where I first picked up my medication refills and then reached into my purse for the list. It was then I realized the list was back in the car! Well, I thought I would remember everything so I didn’t go back to the car. The only thing I forgot was some craisins for the oatmeal, but since I had raisins, I will survive. I did remember milk and orange juice and bread and cheese which were the important things.

I was almost through with the shopping when I realized I need the bathroom, really needed it and in a big hurry! This hasn’t happened to me since the days of the radiation for endometrial cancer, so this would have been 2000. So, at least, 15 years ago. This radiation was the treatment which was the actual thing that caused all the problems I was having which became the reason for this last surgery on my colon which is why I am having the problems I am having now! Anyway, fortunately I did have an adult diaper in my purse so after I cleaned myself up, I was ready to go home which I did. I loaded up my little cart and in two trips got the food into the apartment. Everything that belongs in the freezer is in there and refrigerator stuff is in the refrigerator. Everything else is out in the kitchen and I will find a home for it tomorrow.

My cell phone just played a happy little tune to remind me to take medication so I had better do that.
