I don't do New Years Resolutions. For one, I can hardly remember them, let alone keep them.
But over the last year, starting in January, I've been on a mission to change my body shape. The DEXA scan in the spring showed that consistent WALKING, let alone anything else, changed my hormonal balance so that extra fat went to my lower body rather than my torso (which is so much healthier). When I first started the weight + measuring, I was around 152 (technically overweight by 2 pounds) and about 36-32-36, give or take some bloating and water retention. Dancing year round, obstacle race training, and conscientious eating have gotten me to 150 (or 145? my scale only resets to 5 lbs, not 0) and 36-30.5-37.
I want to be under 30 inches.
Aaron's already noticed and remarked that my body shape has changed since we started dating. I'm much more firmed up, and the hips are bellydance muscle hips, not squishy hips. If you look at 'legit' dancers, they all have large hips--it's muscle. I'm kind of excited that I'm developing those hips. They are awesome. I don't so much care about the number on the scale (to a degree--I do want to be as far under 150 as I can, since I'm only 5'5") as I do the size and how it fits. I'm very muscular, as proven by the DEXA, so I carry the weight well. It's just... I want my little waist back, dammit! The nice back comes with it!
So. 2014. <30 inch waist.
(I say as I drink a second can of soda hush it fixes my sinus headaches)
