I spent the day with Tootie and Cbaby today. We went crawfishing and had no luck at all. (It was way too cold, but Tootie was determined that we were going to catch some.) We spent a couple of hours by the water watching and visiting.
Tootie wasn’t cooperative for pictures:
Cbaby was much easier.
The waterway that we were crawfishing at has a cool feature. Most around here use culverts or gates to move water under the road. This one does it a little differently:
It was so cool! It sounded like a waterfall. The water is low (no idea why, since it’s so high everywhere else around here). Normally you don’t see the square, you just see, basically a whirlpool.
When we gave up on crawfishing, we went over to Bubba’s (we were right down the road from him) and visited for a little while. They had a neighbor bringing some horses over to ride. Cbaby has always wanted to try, but she’s so nervous with her weak foot. Bubba got her on (she tried climbing on from a tailgate, but the horse kept shying away, so he knelt down, had her step from his thigh up to the horse. She’s not little, but her Bubba had her. He walked her around for a while on the horse. She was terrified, but loved it!
Bell had a ball watching her.
We left with them riding off. Bell was happily riding with her Daddy.
All in all, a pretty good day. And, I’m off from school for the next couple of days. You can’t beat that!
