Well, I’m still unemployed. Then again, I didn’t start looking until about 2 weeks ago. I’ve had recruiters call me and chat about potential job opportunities and such.

Then a company emailed me asking if I’d like to chat further, since they liked my resume. When they asked about salary, I told them my salary history. They responded by telling me what the salary capped out at. My issue was when they told me what the pay would be. It was essentially a 10%+ paycut from what anyone with my experience would be making. I figured it couldn’t hurt to continue to talk. To see if working there would be worth the paycut.

Last week, had a phone interview and it went fairly well. Today, I went in for the in-person interview.

I was set to interview with 3 people. After talking with the first person (VP of strategic services), I already got the vibe that I wasn’t going to like working there. Second person (Director of Technology) was awesome. Last person was just an introduction to the outgoing QA person who kind of showed me what I would most likely be working on. Pretty meh.

After the interview, went to hang at the cigar lounge for a few smokes, did some job searching on craigslist and what do I find? That same company put a job listing for the position I just interviewed for, no more than 2 hours after I finished the interview!!!!

TL;DR: Interviewed for QA position at a digital ad agency. Found out that same agency submitted a job post for a QA position, on craigslist, a few hours after I finished interviewing with them.

What would be great is if you responded to their ad and see what kind of response you get back. I was once let go from a job after 6 months because I wasn't what they were looking for apparently - only for them to respond to my resume on CL 6 months later asking me to come in for a job interview, because apparently my skills were what they were looking for. They had no idea it was my resume, but I regret not showing up for that interview lol.

That thought did cross my mind.

Wouldn't do it. Been there once, wasn't in love with what I saw there, don't plan on going back ;)

I would take that so personally!! It would ruin my day!

I would too if the paycut didn't bother me so much!

I think it's hilarious more than anything :)

I'd be offended if I actually wanted to work there.
