The big storm wasn’t
That big, just heavy wet snow
Perfect snowman snow

i took the truck to work. It was one of those big heavily promoted storms. The kind that people talk about for a week before. It was almost like we needed something to come after the caucuses.

Well, it didn’t amount to a lot. People left work early. I was encouraged to leave and to be honest it was a day I would have liked to leave but..... I didn’t. I stayed till the end.

Mid-afternoon we had a parking lot ballet. Honest. First the PA announced people parked on the blacktop part of the parking lot should move their cars so the maintenance guy could plow. Then they announced that the people parked on the gravel should move to the plowed blacktop. I park on the gravel - the larger area - so there were more people moving vehicles - including I suppose those who had moved off the blacktop in the first place. Turns out there wasn’t much snow in the parking lot - it had blown elsewhere.

There wasn’t much on either of the paved roads I take coming home either.
There was some slush and wet pavement and I was careful in case it was slippery but it was generally a stroll along the boulevard.

My 1.25 mile of gravel was a different story. Snow moved itself around up on top of the hill and then down the hill and through the valley there was maybe six inches, maybe more, of dense wet snow. There had been quite a bit of traffic through so there were good tracks for the truck but the low-slung Buick would not have made it.

Jim has plowed the driveway so when the snow plow clears the road I can take the car, otherwise it’s another truck trip. We don’t start till 7 am tomorrow so maybe the plow will be through before then.
