I may, in fact, be a little slow on the uptake. Lord knows that was always true of my interactions with girls. But now it seems it may apply to my work, as well. Reviewing my work e-mails today, as well as my boss’ recent requests… I began to have a suspicion. When my replacement called me today (a Saturday) with a technical problem and said, “I already called the boss. He said to call you.” That suspicion was cemented. My boss does not see me (as had been discussed and agreed upon) as someone helping out in the law library until someone could get hired. No. He sees me as Law Library Supervisor except of course… without the title, benefits, or pay. This presumptive perspective also goes to why my boss doesn’t understand when I do less than 30 hours in a week; or see no reason why I should have to babysit an employee. This certainly isn’t the first time he’s tried to do something like this. Hell, he’s constantly making the Pretrial Supervisor do his job so… the idea that a person should be willing to do the job “over” them seems like an expectation of his. But… again… more reason why it is time to move on.
Too much of my day today was spent being frustrated in fake worlds. What is it with video games and going out of their way to hide Missions? Like… I’d get it if it were some optional mission that rewards massively epic loot.... but if it is going to take me two to three hours to find the Quest Giver for a Story Required quest… you aren’t making your game longer or more fun… you’re just making it more annoying and a pain in the ass. (Game: Fallout 3)
Though… I did have a day today where.... if I followed my desires… today would have been a Bacchus kind of day. Just a strong desire to eat good food, drink good alcohol, and fuck until exhaustion. Obviously… none of that happened. Just… I could sense that desire in my heart today.
