The Great Melt in A small but passable life.

9:30am Monday morning. 41 degrees in the van. Mama knocked on the window and opened the door and hopped into the passenger seat up front. I was still in my sleeping bag. I got up and we talked for a bit. She gave me a present from Jassy. A new pair of sea-green flip-flop shower shoes. I guess she couldn't find any anywhere where she lives so she had her Mom find a pair. And a present from her. A big bag of her no-bake cookies.

I got dressed and we went to the store and I bought her $40 worth of groceries. We drove back to the van and I jumped it off. It started right up after a charge of a few minutes.

I sent her on her way.

I packed up my knapsack and headed over to the MSU library for my shave, shampoo, and wash-up.

For three afternoons now it has been sunny and warm. The snow is mostly melted. There are a few dirty piles left in the shady spots.

Today it was actually warm enough to spend the afternoon in the van reading. That always makes for a wonderful day.

I've finished reading "The Attacking Ocean: The Past, Present, and Future of Rising Sea Levels" by Brian Fagan and I've started on the second non-fiction I checked out Monday before last.

Lying in bed last night I was thinking-

Is it learning to accept things as they are or is it a paralyzing sort of neurosis?

I have no fucking clue.
