The Cold, Hard Facts in The Stuff That's Not Interesting But Is The Most Interesting Stuff I'll Write

I’ve been really mouthy lately. Mouthier than usual. Especially on the internet.

I just can’t stand idiocy any longer.

My friend posted an article about the LGBT high school in Atlanta which featured two little boys, maybe 3 years old or so, kissing on the cheek. All of the comments on it were about how horrible it is that two little boys should be sexualized at such a young age. Then there was this one friend of his who started telling my friend how he obviously hated God, and that the Bible prohibits LGBT people to exist.

I responded by posting a picture of a little girl and a little boy kissing the same way and mentioned that people don’t see sex when they view this picture and that it is actually their own perspectives that frame the picture. I then also remarked that the concept of LGBT as it exists today didn’t exist in Biblical times or even 100 years ago and therefore it isn’t clear.

Then this woman replied to that by telling me that, yes, there were “non-heterosexuals” in Biblical times and that Jesus spoke about sending homosexuals to Hell. I simply replied that she obviously didn’t know how to read as I stated “LGBT as it exists today” wasn’t around, there were instances of “non-heterosexuality” that don’t have the same meaning as they do in todays times. I furthermore pointed at that Jesus himself never spoke about homosexuality, specifically because how could he speak about something that doesn’t exist. I then pointed out all of the Bible verses that do and told her that “sodomy” is not exclusive to homosexuals, and that there is speculation amongst scholars as to whether or not these verses apply to LGBT individuals.

I finished my comment by saying, “As you see, you are incorrect. Read a book. And learn your Bible better.”

This is just one incident of many recently.

Your feelings don’t change the facts. Facts exist separately and cannot be changed. It is true that perspective can alter how you see facts, but whether or not that perspective is valid is not up to you. When you truly accept the fact as it exists, it should change your feelings… that is called personal growth, and it is sorely lacking in today’s society.

I’m sorry if I seem mean about this, but I’m greatly fatigued by people and having to respect their idiocy. I’ll say it again,

Your feelings don’t change the facts, but facts should change your feelings.

If you can’t tell by this entry, I know a lot of people who are Donald Trump supporters.
